Welcome back to another blog! Today's exciting blog post is going to be my genre database entry, exciting I know. So read along and try not to pass out from excitement!
A. Genre- Lifestyle
B. Genre conventions(content)- A magazine depicting typical daily life that normal, everyday students go through. This includes things such as extracurriculars, APs and AICE classes, jobs, workout routines for teens on the go who don't have lots of time, etc.
C. Genre conventions(techniques)- Follow around 6-10 random teens that attend cypress bay and see what they do.
D. Institutional conventions- For marketing techniques, I'd rely heavily on social media. An extremely large amount of teens have some type of social media. If they see a magazine that pertains to them in any way, they might be interested in reading such magazine.
E. Magazine sample #1- Teen Vogue. Teen vogue is similar to the magazine I am going to create. It includes numerous stories on typical teen school life. It also has multiple additional stories about things such as politics and even traditional things teens are involved in, such as "Homecoming"
F. Magazine sample #2- Seventeen. Seventeen is also similar to the magazine I am trying to create. It includes the things that teen vogue includes. Additionally, it includes things about health, fashion, teen life, etc.
