- Genre: Travel & vacations
- Genre conventions(content): The magazine would depict some of the amazing sites in local cities; Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and the Keys. As well as around the world in pleaded in which the writer has traveled. The content would include things to do, places to eat, the best place/location to stay and sights to see.
- Genre conventions(techniques): Use original pictures from the writers journeys to places they’ve been. And things they personally did, places they stayed, and things they wished they had done. For local places, the writer can go and interview locals to see their point of view on things tourists should see.
- Film/magazine sample #1: National Geographic Traveler. National Geographic traveler is a perfect example of the message and story I am trying to convey. The feature galleries filled with hundreds of beautiful photos of places the writers and publishers have traveled. They also include stories about top ten places to go, if interested in a certain thing. For example, there’s a story about the top ten cities for cycling. They also provide a list of the best tours and how to book them in certain cities.
- Film/magazine sample #2: Afar. Afar is a magazine that helps people become informed on other cultures, countries, and unique places in the world. They provide news and help about countries around the world. Their main goal is to help people expand their horizons and travel to lands different and more unique than the place they’ve been to, while stilling assisting in providing an authentic experience.
